On June 2, 1967, The Beatles released Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Now, 43 years later, the rockers Cheap Trick are taking the album to the Las Vegas stage.
The band is teaming with the original audio engineer from the Sgt. Pepper album, Geoff Emerick, for Sgt. Pepper Live, which kicks off at Paris Las Vegas on June 11.
The complex in-studio production of the album meant that The Beatles never performed it in full live. With the support of the Sgt. Pep per Symphony Orches tra, Cheap Trick will be able to bring its own spin to classic songs that hail from a range of influences including jazz, rock ‘n’ roll and traditional Indian music. They will play the entire album as well as a few of their own songs that can be supported by the orchestra.
